Stipulated Order Resolving Plaintiff's Motion for TRO and Preliminary Injunction

On October 8, 2024, the District Court entered a stipulated order resolving plaintiff's motion for TRO and preliminary injunction, which challenged New Mexico’s burdensome and discriminatory requirement that voters with past felony convictions can only register to vote in person. Under the stipulated order, defendants agree to issue updated guidance, re-process erroneously denied registrations, exchange necessary data to implement the New Mexico Voting Rights Act, and use voter registration forms with correct eligibility criteria.
